Ice Rink to become a feature of the town

Tunbridge Wells Cabinet has decided that the ice rink has been such a success that it has decided to negotiate a contract for a further five years and that it will also introduce a modest Christmas Fair this year. Cabinet Member Catherine Mayhew said: "On a recent visit to St Peter's school to talk to the children about what the Borough Council does I asked how many had visited the ice rink - almost every hand shot up and the excitement and pleasure which the rink had brought was very evident. More systematically collected feedback has show a very high satisfaction level - but for me the beaming faces of those children said it all - the Council had made a difference to their Christmas".

In addition the Cabinet report revealed that the income from the car park closest to the ice rink increased by more than £12,000 over the 5 weeks that the rink was there.
