South East Water has written to Councillor Julian Stanyer to confirm that the restrictions on the use of hosepipes ended as at 9th July 2012.
The Company said that it was pleased to return to normal services. Although the rainfall has taken time to soak deep down into their aquifers most are now indicating promising levels of recharge. This is unusual as normally only winter rainfall helps to refill these underground sources. However, the levels are still lower than they would like them to be so they are planning for a possible third dry winter and will continue to ask customers to use water wisely.
