Residents asked to Help Refugees

An urgent appeal for donations for the refugee camp in Calais has been sent to Councillor Julian Stanyer, the member for Speldhurst and Bidborough Ward.

The appeal reads:

"We're asking the lovely population of Tunbridge Wells and surrounding areas to drop off as many needed donations as possible.

If anyone has access to a Van on 19th and 20th September - make yourselves known please!

• JACKETS : Only small and medium sized ones
• TRAVELLING BAGS

There are two big sorting days in Dalston and Calais on Sunday 20th September - and many hands are needed! 

Winter is coming and there is a desperate need! 

This is the biggest global humanitarian crisis since the Second World War - it just cannot continue to be ignored. We need to pull together as much momentum and real action as possible.
