The Conservatives won an overwhelming endorsement in the May Local Elections and now hold 43 of the 48 seats.

Local candidate Councillor Julian Stanyer won the Speldhurst & Bidborough Ward with 70% of the votes, the highest percentage ever polled in the Ward. Elsewhere, Conservatives won back Capel and Pembury Wards, though they did not succeed in retaining St John's Ward.
