Boundary Review Spells Major Local Changes

The Boundary Commission has confirmed its recommendations for major changes to the boundaries of local parliamentary seats which will result in a total reduction of 50 Parliamentary seats nationwide.

Completion of the sale of Royal Victoria Place happened on Monday 21 May when British Land, the UK commercial property company, acquired the shopping centre in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Civic Project Goes to Next Stage

At a packed Council meeting, plans to build a new theatre, civic centre, car park and offices at a gross cost of £90 million were passed by the Full Council. There were 13 who voted against, and 4 abstentions.

Long awaited plans for a development on Tunbridge Wells former ABC Cinema site have received a hostile reaction from the Tunbridge Wells Civic Society and other experts in the development of whom described it as 'more akin to an industrial building.'

James McInroy sailed home for the Conservatives in Thursday's election.

James won the County Council Elections for Tunbridge Wells West with 55% of the vote.
