Superfast broadband on its way

Following an initiative between the government, Kent County Council, Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and local parish councils superfast broadband could soon be a feature of this locality.

Man Arrested After Assault

A man was arrested after an horrendouse assault in Langton Green in the early hours of Sunday morning. The victim is believed to be in a serious condition in hospital. The the attacker is believed to be a former boyfriend of the victim. He was arrested at her property and is in police custody. Acting Chief Inspector Justin Watts said " There is no reason for residents of Langton Green to be alarmed. A man is in custody and helping us with our enquiries. There are no other suspects."

Morrisons on target to re-open store by Easter

Morrisons Supermarket, so long missing from the Tunbridge Wells retail scene, are on site and hoping to open around Easter-time.They will return to a considerably re-vamped store and attractive changes to the facade of the building.

Parish Council Stonewalls on Village Referendum

 Speldhurst Parish Council has refused to commit itself as to whether the residents of Speldhurst Village will be allowed to have a referendum on the controversial proposals for a social rented housing site on a prime gateway to the village. At a tense meeting of the Full Council last Monday, 6th February the Council reversed the decision of the Local Needs Housing Committee to reject the scheme and re-opened discussions “to clarify any uncertainties”.
